In the story of Ruth, Samuel mentioned a specific truth about Ruth. She was a Moabite woman who lived in the foreign soil, city of Moab, where Naomi’s family lived when Bethlehem Judah was in a great famine. She was the wife of Naomi and Elimelek’s son, Mahlon.
Do you remember Lot (a nephew of the Israelite patriarch Abraham) in Sodom and Gomorrah, whose wife became a pillar of salt? Well, the story goes like this:
Lot and his family searched for a way out of Sodom and Gomorrah (two cities who failed the test of God). While the city was being destroyed by God’s wrath, Lot’s wife looked back and at that moment she became a pillar of salt.
Lot and his two daughters lived in a cave. Since there was no masculine presence except for Lot, his daughters tricked him into getting drunk and secretly impregnated them. Their son’s names were Moab and Ammon. Thus came Moabites and Ammonites.

I love a story of ruth… 🥰
She is inspirational! I hope more people hear more of her story and how God worked in her life as a Gentile.
